Look around, you might be surprised at what is watching you.
While watching two chipmunks playing on a limb of a tree in a small meadow, I heard a loud clap of thunder. All of a sudden, the limb that one of the chipmunks was running on shook very hard.
The shaking of the limb sent the little chipmunk flying into the air. He landed on the ground in a pile of leaves, not moving. The other chipmunk jumped down and ran up to the little fellow, and sat there watching him. A few minutes later there was a movement from the little fellow on the pile of leaves. Very slowly he stood up, shook himself, and just looked around. He looked at the other chipmunk that was waiting for him and both ran off.
If you have nothing to do and you are near a small meadow, sit quietly and observe what going on in the area. You will be surprised at what you can see, or what is watching you.
The other day, while having lunch with a friend, he said that we were being watched.
“What!” I said.
“Look near that big tree where the bench is.”
I did and there was nothing there. “Did you look where the leg goes into the dirt?”
“No.”
When I did, I saw a hole in the ground and in the little hole, I could see a little head pop up and down. There was a mound of dirt that led up to the hole. It was a mole watching us eat. Also, sitting on top of a metal light post was a scavenger, a seagull, who was watching us too.
Like I said, look around and be observant of your surroundings. You might find something interesting to watch, or that something is watching you.
The holidays are here and if you've got an outdoorsy person on your list who loves things like camping, skiing, hiking, check...
