Don't be afraid to take a chance on love.

Getting the courage to ask someone out can seem impossible as an adult. However, why was it so easy as a child? Everyone can remember either writing or sending a note that said, do you like me, check yes or no. The minutes of waiting for someone to check either box felt like hours. Not to mention the fact that all your friends were waiting for the response as well. The only thing worse than getting rejected in the note was getting rejected a second time in the cafeteria during lunch.

Let's face it, technology has been the ultimate game-changer for dating. This new routine goes beyond the "You've Got Mail" days. However, there was something a little more romantic about the element of surprise. Exchanging emails can inspire people to base their opinions on chemistry alone. Nevertheless, some dating sites can cause a person to over-analyze or walk away based on profile aesthetic value.

Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks didn't have to scroll through selfies to find the perfect profile picture. Even if they did, how would they know which angle is best? Another factor to keep in mind are icebreakers to support the introduction. Do you choose a charming quote or make a joke to command attention? If the joke is political or dirty, they will swipe left- not interested. If the joke is about the Cowboys defense, you should prepare for an entertaining and healthy debate. If all else fails, imagine a captivating list of hobbies and future goals. Climbing Mount Everest shouldn't seem too big of a reach.

Online romance can also have its advantages when it comes to diversity. Companies took heed that specific criteria are pivotal when finding a connection. Some sites are geared towards religious beliefs, gender, hobbies, single parents, age, and careers. The buffet of options makes it easy to believe there is someone for everyone. In addition to inclusiveness, convenience is the ultimate reward. There is less pressure to meet in person after the initial encounter. However, that may depend on chemistry and each other's ability to flirt. Since body language is out of the question, this may require some finesse.

When it comes to vulnerability, people tend to err on the side of caution for two reasons. The first reason is to avoid being on the show "Catfish." The second reason is that finding love can be a scary but rewarding adventure. I believe there is humor in the traditional and nontraditional approach. Dating doesn't have to be an unanswered equation. The beauty is that everyone can write their own rules.
