The season opens with the Lions visiting the Chiefs. You would think the Lions are contenders, but I beg to differ. Week 1 has better matchups, like the Titans visiting the Saints and the Dolphins taking on the Chargers.  The Sunday night game — Cowboys vs. Giants — and the Monday night game — Bills vs. Jets — both have star quality.

In Week 2, Ravens vs. Bengals may not be nationally televised, but Jets vs. Cowboys will be.
 
Week 3 pits the Eagles vs. Bucs on MNF.
 
In Week 4, the first of five international games matches the Falcons vs. the ‘home’ team Jaguars in London.  
 
Week 5: Giants visiting Dolphins will not be nationally televised but will be more interesting than Cowboys and 49ers on SNF.
 
The Jets show up again in Week 6 vs. Eagles in a late game, before the Giants challenge the Bills on SNF.
 
Week 7 features the Jaguars visiting the Saints on TNF.
 
The ‘Battle for New York’ — Jets visiting Giants — will not be seen nationally in Week 8.
 
In Week 9, the Dolphins and Chiefs clash in Germany.  Bills and Bengals go at it on SNF.
 
The Bengals and Ravens start Week 11 with a bang, while the Eagles and Chiefs close it out on MNF with a Super Bowl rematch.
 
Thanksgiving weekend, the NFL's first Black Friday contest features the Dolphins and Jets.
 
In Week 13, the 49ers and Eagles stage a rematch of the NFC championship.
 
The Bills and Chiefs headline Week 14 in a virtual playoff game.
 
In Week 15, the Ravens and Jaguars go at it on MNF.
 
On Christmas, it's Giants vs. Eagles, while the Ravens battle the 49ers.
 
Week 17, the Bengals and Chiefs take center stage, potentially deciding AFC home field advantage.
 
The regular season finale headline is Eagles vs. Giants, closely followed by Bills vs. Dolphins.
