Every once in a while, we come across certain books that change our perspective on life. For me, that book was The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life written by Mark Manson.

"Everything worthwhile in life is won through surmounting the associated negative experience." — Mark Manson, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck.

From reading negative reviews on the internet, to hearing positive feedback about this book from my friends, I had second thoughts on picking it up. However, I still decided to give it a try — and I was not disappointed. It is not an exaggeration when I say that The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is the kind of book that changed my outlook on life.

Manson has depicted in his book, the truth of life. He has urged his readers to view life through a different lens, rather than to focus on being a perfectionist at all times. The bitter truth about life is that it never goes as planned. There will be certain moments that seem unpredictably horrible, and in The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, Mark Manson has decided not to sugarcoat the harsh reality that life can never be perfect all the time. However, that does not mean you cannot be happy. You just have to find happiness amidst the chaos of sorrow and grief.

Reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck had taught me that it is okay to have bad days sometimes; life cannot be perfect all the time. Mark Manson has backed up his writings with academic research. For keeping the content light, Manson has added a healthy amount of humor to it as well. Some things are better left unsaid; some people are better left alone.

It is only through embracing our faults that we can avoid an uncomfortable way of life and start living in a content way, through being grateful for all that we have while working hard towards our goals and dreams. Skimming through the first few chapters of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, I was hooked, and I learned that not everything in life is meant to be taken seriously.

Sometimes, we must just go with the flow and let the universe guide us in the right direction. The art of being perfect all the time is massive, causing nothing but depression and anxiety. Reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck had taught me to embrace my failures and my imperfections. Being a perfectionist, it is not easy for me to not care about what anybody thinks of me. However, this book gave me the motivation to get out of my shell and stop worrying about pleasing everyone, and the realization dawned on me that I can't make everyone like me, and that's okay.

We must trust the process; we must have faith in ourselves. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck, by Mark Manson is the kind of book that every youngster should read because it teaches a person how to live their life in a stress-free and worry-free manner!
