The Race to Elect People to Control Our Lives

We should be taking every election seriously.

Once again it is election time. I don’t know what that means for all of you, but it is always a difficult time for me. Money and popularity seem to be the guiding forces in our elections. We as a populous seem to just sit in front of the TV and listen to whatever we are being told. Don’t bother to research the candidates that you are electing to make life changing decisions on your behalf. And when the candidates that we elect don’t do what is in our best interest, we get mad. How can we get mad when we make baseless decisions to begin with?

Here, let me help a little for the people in my home state of Illinois. Below you will find a helpful link for the upcoming midterm elections.

That article has condensed a good deal of information on the actual candidates. It gives you real information you can use to pick the best choice out of what we must pick from. Sometimes those choices are harder than others. Let the people that might do some good for us get in there. Does it really matter if they are a democrat, or a republican, or an independent?

If that means that you vote for a democrat for one position and a republican for another position, then let it begin. Why elect someone from a particular party background if you know they aren’t going to help us? Or because you want to see what they will do?

I hear people say that they love our country so much, but when it comes time for them to do the one thing that could make a difference directly in their own lives, they take it lightly. Or they simply don’t vote. Wow! All the blood that has been spilled just to allow everyone to vote, and still there are people who don’t. The strongest voice that we have as a people is our right to vote. Yes, there has been trickery and underhanded things done to undermine this. But this is even more reason to take this seriously and vote with knowledge.

Do you have an opinion about this article? Sure, you do. Let us know your favorite place below in the comments.
