THE LATEST: Who We Are, What We Believe

All Topics. All Sides. One Place.

The one thing people tell us they really like about THE LATEST is that we are politically neutral.

You can see the same story as presented by Huffington Post, Fox News, New York Times, BBC and Al Jazeera – side by side.

We do the same with our commentators.  All points of view are welcome at THE LATEST, provided they are offered in a spirit of mutual respect.

TheLatest.com is not a place to spew hate, use four-letter words or spread false or malicious propaganda.

In addition to politics, we cover business, entertainment, sports, lifestyle – anything can be “the latest.”

But we hear one criticism fairly often: that people think our policy of political neutrality gets lost in the shuffle.

This wonderful and much-needed feature doesn’t “leap out” at people because there is so much going on at THE LATEST, we're told.

So soon we will soon launch a second site, OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (JoinONC.com) devoted 100% to politics.

JoinONC.com will offer news and commentary from a wide range of sources – from left to right and everything in between.  All points of view (respectfully stated and based on real facts), will be welcome.  It's time America started talking again.

We have a new design in the works that will make our political neutrality "pop" more.

We want to add another feature: We want to create a location on the site where people can place actual policy proposals that will, if adopted, make our country better.

Our readers and writers are very smart.  Many have true subject expertise.  Others just have amazing common sense. We will tap into all that.

These proposals will take into account the best of liberal, moderate and conservative thinking.  We will keep these proposals short, simple, practical and to the point.

Partisanship will not enter into the discussion; this will be all about getting our country moving again.  I see no reason why we can’t “fix” – on paper, anyway – immigration, healthcare, budget deficits and all the other issues that vex our nation.

We'll assemble all these proposals into an easy-to-follow "cookbook" of public policy recipes.  If our elected officials pay attention, all they’ll need to do is follow the recipes in our new cookbook.

As the bumper sticker says, “If the people lead, the politicians will follow.”

We have a bunch of student interns from all across America working on this. We hope to go live July 4, 2021.

We are going to need help in order to do this right.  We are going to need writers, on-camera talkers, podcasters, strategic partners and investors.  We also need everyday citizens to get involved.

If you want to discuss any of this, please get in touch by sending me an email: [email protected] Please tell me who you are, how you’d like to get involved.
