Teresa May's Resignation: Good Riddance to Old Rubbish!

If you want to know what America might have looked like had Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election, it probably would have looked a lot like Teresa May's Britain...

Until Teresa May became British Prime Minister in 2016 I was an Anglophile, an admirer of Parliamentary democracy and the "unwritten Constitution." However, her three-year term, following the disappointing David Cameron, revealed the wisdom of America's Founding Fathers in writing a Constitution and Bill of Rights.

May's corrupt and deeply unsettling handling of the 2016 Brexit referendum may have been the immediate cause of her departure, but her term in office was dreadful in every way--she did more to discredit the Tory Party and the UK itself than any British leader ever.

No wonder Nigel Farage's Brexit party has done so well. She handed the country to him on a silver platter.

Sadly, her perfidy permitted Jeremy Corbyn's Labour Party to prosper--despite openly embracing Anti-Semites, Communists, and totalitarians of all stripes, including Islamic Fundamentalists and Jihadis.

Full disclosure: I have disliked May from the moment, as Home Secretary. she upheld travel bans on Americans Michael Savage, Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, preventing American freedom-lovers from entering the UK.

May was a Politically Correct robot even then, and only got worse subsequently.

Naturally, she is an Establishmentarian. She grew up in Oxford, daughter of a vicar, worked at the Bank of England, served as Minister for Women and Equalities. She is, unlike Margaret Thatcher, a staunch feminist who "changed her mind" on LGBTQ issues once in power.

If you want to know what America might have looked like had Hillary won in 2016, it probably would have looked a lot like the UK under Teresa May.

Like Hillary, she supported the prosecution of Julian Assange. Like Hillary, she accused Russia of meddling in elections...this time in Germany. Like Hillary, she championed Rohingya Muslims against the Burmese government.

On May's watch terrorism flourished. Under her government we saw the March 2017 Westminster knife attack killing four and injuring 50, the May Manchester Arena Ariana Grande concert bombing killing 22 and injuring 139, the June London Bridge attack killing 8 and wounding 48, and a retaliatory Finsbury Park Mosque attack killing one.

Death toll: 35. Injury toll: 236.

Add May's handling of the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire, with 72 dead and 70 injured. The cause was never officially determined, leading some--myself included--to believe it was "fire jihad."

Total dead: 107. Total injured: 306.

Not to mention her government's effort to overturn the election of President Trump by allowing UK intelligence agent Christopher Steele to spread a Russian hoax dossier, in cahoots with the Obama administration and Hillary campaign.

Talk about "collusion" or "foreign interference..."

Since May announced her resignation as of June 7, purportedly to allow her to greet President Trump when he arrives for his state visit on June 3, I hope the President has a chance to question her about exactly what she knew about the plot against him--and when she knew it.
