The town of Poway, CA had a boil water advisory last week due to alleged contamination in their reservoir. Discolored water was discovered around Poway, 22 miles north of San Diego. As a result, nearly 250 restaurants in the area were advised to close as a safety precaution.

However, the owner of Players Sports Grill, Mike Pasulka, continued to pay his employees their regular wages—out of his own pocket until the ban was lifted today, Saturday, December 7.

For a week, Pasulka paid all 20 of his workers--with no customers at all. He commented in a TV interview, “It'd be nice to have that money in my pocket but dispersing it among the people that have helped me get to where I am is what I think should be done.”

What a guy! It turns out that his insurance would not pick up the tab to cover losses -- which included lots of food that had to be thrown out.

This generous man should be honored: he sets a perfect example for all of us, putting the needs of others above his own. What a great way for Pasulka's employees to start their holidays. This business owner hopefully will be repaid many times over with positive events in his life.

And he’s smart. Wouldn't you want your boss to be like this? Part of the payback for this restaurateur is that he's sure to keep a dedicated and loyal staff. I wouldn't be surprised if a GoFundMe page is cooked up in the near future.
