So, Trump's Military Parade Will Be Expensive

The preliminary figures for the total bill of President Trump's November military parade are in and the number looks awfully similar to a certain "tremendously expensive" military exercise he recently ended.

We haven’t talked about it in a while, but it’s not a story that should be completely pushed away, for President Trump’s impending military parade is such a waste of time, money and resources that it alone should be grounds to impeach him and mail-order-bride him to Moscow.

If the mere existence of President Trump’s ego-stroking procession of American military mediocrity weren’t enough, we now have an idea of how much it will cost. The price tag of Trump’s military parade, at this time, is estimated to be nearly the same as the “tremendously expensive” American-South Korean war games President Trump cancelled while presumably eating champagne-soaked strawberries in a candlelit hot tub with Kim Jong-Un.

While the cost of this bloated exercise in self-worth is enough to make American’s seriously consider tax evasion, we should also keep in mind that stunts like these are what oppressive, corrupted dictatorial regimes – like the ones in Russia and North Korea – do. This flexing of American military strength deviates greatly from American tradition. While there have been parades of military personnel before, such as at the end of the American Civil War and both World Wars, those parades celebrated the troops returning home from conflict. They signified the end of wartime and the return to civilian life. President Trump’s parade, however, is a show of military force, something Americans have, generally, detested from a cultural standpoint.

It’s not even just the liberals who are squeamish about President Trump’s plans. There are a notable number of conservatives as well, such as Louisiana Senator John Kennedy who said of the impending event: “I think confidence is silent and insecurity is loud. America is the most powerful country in all of human history; you don’t need to show it off.”

But President Trump has demonstrated he isn’t one who cares about what others think. Once he gets a bad idea he becomes, as Stephen Colbert so eloquently stated, the “Usain Bolt of stupid.” President Trump has also demonstrated that he isn’t one who cares about money when he gets a bad idea, seeing as he has invested copious amount of hard-defrauded cash into such ventures as steaks, resorts, and board games.

And now he gets to invest copious amounts of tax revenue into a military parade that would make his mistresses proud. We all know how this is going to go. The price tag will go up as we get closer to the event, he’ll lie about how many people attended, then he’ll go on a tweet-storm about whatever B.S. thing Alex Jones tells him Hillary Clinton or George Soros allegedly did, because it’s becoming extremely apparent that Donald Trump is actually Veruca Salt in disguise.
