Random thoughts on the passing scene.

Thank goodness the House of Representatives approved the creation of a select committee to probe the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol Building. Now we can finally get to the bottom of what we already know happened.

Democrats attempting to blame Republicans for the rise in rampant lawlessness around the country is a shameless example of the pot calling the kettle black. Democrats — they of demonizing law enforcement and the “defund the police” movement — own the crime spike, and they know it.

Shouldn’t the powers that be at the National Education Association be focused on making sure our kids are getting a quality education, especially in the aftermath of a pandemic that forced remote learning on the nation? That’s instead of grandstanding on irrelevant geopolitical affairs.

Government officials in California are apparently unfamiliar with decentralization and federalism in that they are always trying to impose their political views on the governments and people of red states.

This editorial on climate change by Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington state reads like an essay hastily written the night before by a procrastinating middle school student.

Bill Cosby getting sprung from the clink on a technicality that overturned his sex assault conviction was a shock. At least his victims can take some solace in the fact Cosby’s true nature has been revealed. The man formerly known as “America’s Dad” is a monster and hypocrite of the first order.

The folks at ESPN should have known the average American watches sports as an escape from reality. The smart play would have been to stick to covering sports. Instead, the brain trust at the network decided to go all-in with embracing progressive politics. Talk about dropping the ball.

U.S. Olympian Gwen Berry virtue signals the heck out of the medal ceremony, then complains about the backlash she is getting for her designed-to-get-attention stunt. Why does someone so obviously hostile to America even want to represent the country at the Olympics?

It was gratifying to see Shaquille O’Neal rhetorically body check LeBron James for being the whiny, ungrateful and spoiled brat he is.

MSNBC host Tiffany Cross inadvertently proved the point of critics who slam woke leftists. How? By demonizing said critics as — wait for it — racists.

The “theory” part of critical race theory is correct in that it’s a crazy conspiracy theory that advances the notion anything and everything in America is racist.

’Twas a bad week for those of us hoping to see folks stand up to the woke mob. Lookin’ at you, James Corden and University of North Carolina Board of Trustees.

Progressives frequently run down the United States of America; judging the nation solely on its faults and shortcomings, while ignoring its historical exceptionalism.

The U.S. press earned a last-place finish in a recent survey on media trust. There's no doubt that has something to do with the fact mainstream American journalists are biased as heck in favor of the political left.
