Random thoughts on the passing scene.

You can tell it’s almost Halloween by all of the Christmas decorations up in stores.

Halloween is a strange holiday. Safety is allegedly the top priority of a ritual in which parents send out their kids at night in sight-restricting costumes to beg for candy from strangers.

Monday was Columbus Day, a holiday the woke scolds on the left are trying to ruin with their preposterously romanticized notion of the indigenous peoples in North, Central and South America. Likewise, these same historically-ignorant folks have a ridiculously negative view of Western civilization. All of which makes for a poor understanding of the complexities of the past.

LeBron James is a useful idiot for China.

Speaking of useful idiots, the lickspittles and toadies in the mainstream media lived down to their liberal bias in failing to ask any questions about China during Tuesday night’s Democratic primary debate.

If Sen. Elizabeth “Fauxahontas” Warren is elected president, would it be considered racist to play “Hail to the Chief” at her public appearances?

“Unfortunately, this [partisanship] is what we’ve already seen play out as calls for impeachment really began shortly after Trump won his election, and as unhappy as that may make us as Democrats, he won that election in 2016,” said Rep. Tulsi Gabbard at the Democratic primary debate. How long before she’s essentially excommunicated from the Democratic Party for her heresy?

A House Judiciary Committee resolution from former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment in October 1998 explains that the committee found it necessary to have its investigation authorized by a House vote because “the issue of impeachment is of such overwhelming importance, the Committee decided that it must receive authorization from the full House before proceeding on any further course of action.” In addition, the same historical precedent was set by the House in impeachment efforts against Presidents Richard Nixon and Andrew Johnson. The House of Representatives has the sole power to impeach the president, not Speaker Nancy Pelosi via fiat at a press conference.

During a recent speech in Copenhagen, Denmark, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said her “dreams of motherhood now taste bittersweet” due to climate change. The appeal from emotionalism is bad enough, but what’s really disturbing is the way she and other climate change alarmists speak – probably for political purposes – as if the future has already been doomed by global warming.

Actress Jane Fonda was recently arrested for protesting climate change at the Capitol. At least “Hanoi” Jane wasn’t supporting North Vietnam this time.

A recent Fox News poll indicates Americans are “exhausted” by President Trump. Maybe – just maybe – people are tired of the mainstream media incessantly dumping on Trump. Maybe – just maybe – the public is weary of Democrats’ refusal to accept the fact Trump bested Hillary Clinton at the ballot box in November 2016.

On a lighter note, does Mike Wazowski have depth perception? Same question regarding one-eyed Minions.
