Hot Time in the City and the Country

Our country is in a state of heat stroke, a fatal condition that is generally unrecognized by those experiencing it and requiring immediate action. Every summer, we remind people to protect kids, pets and themselves from experiencing a fatal heat stroke. This is a reminder to all of our political elitists on both sides that we are overheating; we require immediate action to save us from the path we are on.

Summer is here and there are many places across the country that are downright hot. With the rising day-time temperatures come also the rising temperatures in our political arena.

The Supreme Court selection, immigration issues, special investigation findings, and the so-called reporting of “truth” by the media “professionals” all have people throughout the country hot under the collar, regardless of which party affiliation they follow.

For both of these heated stress-like conditions, the weather and politics, we all need to chill!

Every year we remind people to not leave kids or pets in vehicles, even if the windows are cracked open, because it causes heat stroke and will kill them. Every summer we remind people to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated to reduce the risk of heat stroke, which will kill them.

This year, our political elitists are raising the temperatures because instead of trying to find legitimate, compromising (using the word in a good sense) solutions for which the country and its citizens will benefit, they would prefer to raise the temperature through putrid, vile, and often imbecilic language and behavior that is detrimental to our country, our people and to themselves. The point they are all missing is the hotter the political climate gets, the more dangerous it becomes for all Americans. We are all heading for a heat stroke, which will cause this country to die.

As we prepare our bodies for increased temperatures in the summer through cooler and lighter-weight clothing, increased hydration, and eating more chilled foods to help maintain normal body heat, at times these preventive measures are not enough because we still experience heat stress. Once in the throes of heat stroke, it requires immediate treatment and oftentimes, from others who recognize we are in trouble because we can’t see it ourselves.

Treatment for heat stroke requires immediate cooling of the body with ice, water, shade and air movement across the body to reduce the heat and bring the body temperature back to normal. A person in heat stroke is generally unconscious or unable to think clearly because of the rise in temperature and a “Good Samaritan” must recognize the condition and then immediately act to save the person’s life.

In our political arena today, we are no longer preventing a heat stroke, but experiencing one. The condition, left untreated, is fatal. We must take immediate action to get the temperature back under control. As in a real heat stroke, action must be taken with those who are unable to recognize how much trouble they are in.

We must restore civility and it is time for the moderate groups on both sides to come together with new and reasonable spokespersons. Our current mouthpieces are just loud, hate-filled and useless. If we do not want to overheat, then we must take all necessary actions to get our political body back to a normal temperature. If we refuse to work together, we will all die together.
