Hillary Clinton is Ivanka Trump on Steroids

After the 2016 election, Hillary Clinton should have accepted her loss with grace, stepped back from the public eye, and paid someone to ghost write a memoir every now and then. But of course, the first two didn't happen.

Thanks to voracious media coverage and national scrutiny, Ivanka Trump is now perceived as a nepotism barbie. Many argue that her current position as senior advisor to the president is unethical. Her foray into politics and international diplomacy are entirely a product of her father’s power rather than her own abilities, therefore making her undeserving of whatever influence she holds today.

But while we denounce nepotism in the current White House, we cannot forget that both Democrats and Republicans are guilty of it. If Ivanka’s rise was unethical, Hillary Clinton’s was far worse.

After graduating from prestigious colleges, Hillary co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, was the first female partner of a law firm, and was the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation. It would have been inspirational if the rest of her career were based upon her own merit rather than the Clinton name.

The truth is that Hillary would not have achieved a fraction of her modern-day political clout if she weren’t the wife of Bill Clinton. She rose to national prominence when her husband was elected governor of Arkansas and president of The United States. After Bill’s time as commander-in-chief ended, Hillary began using the Clinton name to boost her own political career.

She was the senator for New York for 8 years and was later appointed Secretary of State under Obama. None of that would have happened if she weren’t a Clinton. Not to mention her mountain of controversies, be it her destructive foreign policy in Libya or the shady donations to the Clinton Foundation from foreign dictatorships.

Indisputable evidence shows that Hillary’s campaign controlled the DNC financially and rigged the democratic primary against Bernie Sanders. Can we really view her democratic nomination as legitimate?

Hillary’s dishonest ventures can be attributed to her sheer entitlement to both political success and the people’s unquestioned support. Such entitlement manifests in the slander of anyone who disagrees with her. During the 2016 election, she said that half of Trump supporters could be fit in “the basket of deplorables.”

This past weekend, she baselessly smeared environmentalist Jill Stein and veteran Tulsi Gabbard as Russian assets. Hillary should have remembered Madeleine Albright’s admonition: “There is a special place in hell for women who do not help other women.”

Having Hillary be our first female president would have been an insult to women across the country. A leader with integrity needs to shatter that glass ceiling-- not somebody who climbed to the top through nepotism, bribery, and cheating.

Yes, Ivanka Trump is another form of entitlement and privilege. However, Hillary’s pursuit of power is far more potent -- her “career” did not stem from the moral corruption of one individual, but rather the entire system.
