It’s that time again, Emmy nominations are here -- and so are the predictions.

The Emmy Award nominations were announced yesterday. Click here for a complete list.

No analysis on the nominations, they are what they are (although I remain confounded about the love for Westworld). I skipped some of the categories, like Reality and Unscripted stuff, and am limiting what I list to my Should Win opinion and my Will Win prediction.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS, DRAMA

Should Win – Ann Dowd (The Handmaids Tale)

Will Win – Ann Dowd (The Handmaids Tale)

SUPPORTING ACTOR, DRAMA

Should Win – Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones)

Will Win – Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones) ALTHOUGH David Harbour (Stranger Things) could upset.

SUPPORTING ACTRESS, COMEDY

Should Win – Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)

Will Win – Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live)

SUPPORTING ACTOR, COMEDY

Should Win – Henry Winkler (Barry)

Will Win – Henry Winkler (Barry)

BEST ACTRESS, COMEDY

Should Win – Rachel Brosnaham (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)

Will Win – Rachel Brosnaham (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) ALTHOUGH Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie) could upset in lieu of lifetime achievement award.

BEST ACTOR, COMEDY

Take your pick, any of these actors deserves it.

Should Win – Bill Heder (Barry)

Will Win – Donald Glover (Atlanta)

BEST ACTRESS, DRAMA

Should Win – Tatiana Maslany (Orhpan Black)

Will Win – Elizabeth Moss (The Handmaids Tale) ALTHOUGH Sandra Oh (Killing Eve) could upset.

BEST ACTOR, DRAMA

Should Win – Matthew Rhys (The Americans)

Will Win – Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us)

TELEVISION MOVIE

Should Win – USS Callister  (Black Mirror)

Will Win – USS Callister  (Black Mirror)

VARIETY SKETCH SERIES

This is easily the most diverse and representative category.

Should Win – At Home with Amy Sedaris (truTV)

Will Win – Saturday Night Live (NBC)

VARIETY TALK SERIES

Late Night with Seth Myers is a shameful oversight.

Should Win – Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (TBS)

Will Win – Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

OUTSTANDING GUEST ACTRESS, DRAMA

Statistical odds point to an actress from The Handmaid’s Tale.

Should Win – Viola Davis (Scandal)

Will Win – Viola Davis (Scandal) ALTHOUGH Cicely Tyson (How To Get Away With Murder) could upset in lieu of lifetime achievement award.

OUTSTANDING GUEST ACTOR, DRAMA

Should Win – Cameron Britton (Mindhunter)

Will Win – Cameron Britton (Mindhunter)

OUTSTANDING WRITING, COMEDY

Should Win – Alec Berg, Bill Heder (Barry)

Will Win – Donald Glover (Atlanta) ALTHOUGH Amy Sherman-Palladino (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) could upset.

OUTSTANDING WRITING, DRAMA

Should Win – Phoebe Waller Bridge (Killing Eve)

Will Win – David Benioff, D.B. Weiss (Game of Thrones)

OUTSTANDING COMEDY SERIES

Should Win – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime Video)

Will Win – black-ish (ABC)

OUTSTANDING DRAMA SERIES

Should Win – The Americans (FX)

Will Win – Game of Thrones (HBO)

Yes, I give The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel tons of love because I feel it was the best show last year. It was nice to see GLOW get its props but I'm not sure how Marc Maron and Alison Brie were overlooked for their performances. It was great to see Jessica Biel get a nomination for Best Actress in Limited Series or Movie for The Sinner, but the series deserved more recognition (Bill Pullman).
