Don't Wait Until Sunday

Comedian John Lovitz used to praise a good movie with the cry: “Now, that’s entertainment!” As troubling a year as 2020 has been, the NFL has been a beacon of excitement — a much needed flash of pure entertainment. And the cheers are sure to continue in Week 11.
What we witnessed last weekend was pure entertainment. That timeless heart-stopper in Arizona between the Cardinals and Bills late Sunday afternoon was but icing on the cake; seven other games were decided by a TD or less. Calling the 32 teams 'well matched' would be both repetitious and a sizable understatement.
Of the 32, only three teams are hopelessly behind with six weeks left in the regular season. All of my preseason playoff picks (I picked 12, not 14) are still in the hunt, although the Falcons, 49ers and Patriots are struggling and could be eliminated with just a few more losses. My 12 picks were (alphabetically): Browns, Bucs, Chiefs, Eagles, Falcons, 49ers, Patriots, Raiders, Ravens, Saints, Titans, and Vikings.
As it stands today, it appears that I may have been premature in talking about the demise of the Colts, Packers and Steelers, and I underestimated the meteoric rise of the Bills, Cardinals and Dolphins. That’s what makes the playoffs somewhat unpredictable — and that's also what makes the whole thing so much fun.
Speaking of the “Cardiac Cardinals”, they are back in action Thursday night, so, unless you're a fan of just one team, don't wait until Sunday — get your beer and snacks ready. On this episode of TNF, “Hail Murray” and the Cards will take on Russell “Let Him Cook” Wilson and the Seahawks, greatly impacting that unpredictable division race out there in the wild, wild West.
In other divisional showdowns Sunday, the Falcons take on the red-hot Saints, while those dangerous Raiders try to sweep the defending-champion Chiefs.
That big Titans-Ravens contest affects several AFC contenders. And the entire league has an interest in that big showdown between the NFC North division-leading Packers and the AFC South division-leading Colts.
The weekend ends with fireworks: a tempting MNF match between the Rams and Bucs.
Here are all the NFL Week 11 games — and my picks.
