Celebrities happily announce pregnancies with fetuses. But not living beings.

Recently, comedian Amy Schumer announced her pregnancy with her first baby on her Instagram page and excitedly remarked about how she looks forward to becoming a mother.

But she's by no means alone in her form of announcement. Most celebrity magazine websites feature special sections dedicated to celebrity pregnancies. And why shouldn't it? Typically these celebrities are happily announcing their expecting motherhood. They are about to become mothers, which is a venerable responsibility.

But what's a strange phenomenon is that this community of celebrities feel like this is good news. The same community who talk about how it isn't really a life inside them, and how abortion should be on demand, basically until delivery. Why would they be so happy, and why would it be newsworthy? After all, many in this community have told us for years that it's just a bunch of cells or non-sentient organic materials.

It's strange how when these celebrities want their child, it becomes a cherished, budding life. But if they don't want it, it doesn't really matter anyway.

Now the real irony is the pro-life side would actually support these happy pregnancy announcements, as it is something worth celebrating. But why would this entertainment elite, who don't view pregnancies the same way, find their own stories at all important.
