With today being the final day of Comic-Con 2019, let's review some of the highlights and exciting reveals of this year's gathering.

Comic-Con is one of the most highly-anticipated media events of the year, with popular movie studios, cosplay events and competitions, T.V. production companies, gaming studios, and panel upon panel of your favorite actors and actresses taking part in Q&A sessions throughout the short week.

This year, there were plenty of things for fans of all kinds to by hyped up about.

MARVEL

With the final chapter of the MCU's Phase Three and the Infinity Saga coming to a close with Endgame, fans knew they would be getting some kind of news about Phase Four. Logos for several new Marvel movies and shows were revealed, including Wanda Vision, Loki, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, and the long-awaited Black Widow movie. In addition, Marvel showed off a preliminary timeline of release dates for shows and movies in Phase Four, as seen below.

HBO

A new Watchmen trailer was also released during day three of Comic-Con, and this one finally gave fans a glimpse at one of the most famous characters: Doctor Manhattan. If you haven't already, watch the exciting trailer here courtesy of YouTube and HBO:

Additionally, since Game of Thrones officially came to an end this year, many were itching to hear from (and grill) show creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss after the divisive (if not widely disappointing, to be honest) final season. Ironically, they ended up dropping out of appearing at Comic-Con at the last minute, leaving the cast of the show, especially Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a.k.a Jaime Lannister, to try and defend the last few episodes to a somewhat hostile audience. It was painful, to say the least.

GAMING

Though this first highlight isn't strictly gaming, a Netflix series is being created that is based on a series of novels and short stories from author Andrzej Sapkowski, which inspired the even more popular and critically-acclaimed series of Witcher video games. The series is named simply: The Witcher. The first full-length trailer offers plenty in the way of excitement and intrigue (not to mention star Henry Cavill looks stunning in this rather new role for him). Check out the trailer here, courtesy of YouTube and Netflix:

On a personally exciting note, looter-shooter series Borderlands was very present at Comic-Con to promote the long-awaited Borderlands 3. They released a lot of never-before-seen content, such as concept art for the cover of the video game that they didn't end up using. Additionally, they had some of the most stunning cosplayers in their cosplay contest. Some of the finalists are seen below dressed as vault hunters FL4K, Moze, and new villain Tyreen, respectively.

All in all, Comic Con is a great place for fans of all types to come together and celebrate the things they enjoy, which I think is a pretty beautiful thing. There are many more highlights to be seen, so check out Den of Geek! for a more expansive list!
