China's Communists Embrace AOC

The labeling of migrant centers as "concentration camps" by AOC has become a rhetorical gift to the Chinese Communist Party.
As most are probably aware, "Squad" member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called migrant centers on the southern U.S. border "concentration camps." Contrasted against her silence on the rampant racial violence in Southern Africa, one could view this action as a feel-good, basic defense of her tribe. Moreover, one recognizes her utterly unoriginal and predictable seizure of a ready-made cliché image from the past hundred years and more.
Some agree with AOC's choice of words. This includes the China Daily -- the primary propaganda mouthpiece for the Communist Party -- which has endorsed her incendiary language to criticize the United States.
It's typically forgotten that the first concentration camps were invented in Cuba during the late 19th century. More than a million African slaves were also brought to Cuba as part of the Atlantic slave trade. Perhaps Texas Senator Ted Cruz should first account for his own ancestors' legacy (his own Cuban Holocaust) before lecturing Americans [Tennesseans] on slavery, as he recently did.
Uh, Senator Cruz, Tennessee didn't invent concentration camps nor does it have a Holocaust explicitly named after it -- as Cuba does.
But the British also had their own concentration camps during the time of the Boer Wars. Meanwhile, there's a contextual question to be addressed: aren't these concentration facilities customarily thought of as "labor camps," or, in a characterization that would have surprised the International Red Cross, "death camps?"
So, is AOC actually claiming that illegal migrants are being subjected to forced labor? Being killed? Surely not.
In any event, one thing remains to be seen: will AOC allow herself to be a linguistic stooge used by the Chinese Communist Party? Or will she come out and openly disavow this rhetorical marriage between herself and the totalitarian repressers?
Politically, it's a tough predicament. What will she do?
We've had a peek: AOC has already doubled down on using the term "concentration camp" by tweeting, again conventionally, "The US ran concentration camps before, when we rounded up Japanese people during WWII. It is such a shameful history that we largely ignore it."
Ignored? Letters of formal apology issued; $20,000 checks cut by the U.S. government. Ignored?
But all of this must continue to greatly delight the Communist authoritarians in Beijing.
More broadly, will the Democratic Party allow itself to be associated, at least semantically, with the forces of China's coerced organ harvesting, "re-education camps," and its Communist legacy of tens of millions of murdered human beings.
In embracing "the Squad," the Democrats have already established themselves as supporters of Antifa terrorism; so don't be surprised if nothing is said about the China Daily affair as the Democratic Party seems to drift further toward the political abyss.
