Father and creator of many Marvel characters, former Marvel Comics publisher, Stan Lee passed away earlier this week at the age of 95. His passing marks the end of a great career of an even greater man. We love you, Stan. We're going to miss you terribly...

You have given us so much and have been a fixture for your creations. A wealth of material and stories spanning over thirty years--stories that made us cry, kept us strong, and gave us a reason to inspect our society through objective eyes--all while entertaining us with fantastic, amazing, and incredible worlds and characters that have stood the test of time. Your legacy is one that will never be forgotten.

I would have loved to meet you, if only once, just to tell you how much you impacted my life for the better. I would have told you with tears in my eyes that, "Marvel Entertainment got me though the worst of times--whatever I was going through, I could always read a Marvel comic or put in a MCU movie or a Marvel animation and escape--if only for a few hours. You created characters that I personally looked up to--motivating me to be a better man in a world that always tested the limits of my humanity. For that, I could never thank you enough."

People like Bill Maher or James Cameron may not understand how much your stories changed and shaped other people's lives--and it's possible that they never will. They may never understand the culture and communities you have created from just believing in something so imaginary that it became real--and that may be because they have yet to experience that feeling themselves. Such people look at the world through a different lens--one that limits the ability to enjoy the childlike personality in all of us. Even at the age of 95, you were one of the few embraced that child--showing the world that it was also okay to do so. And on behalf of every nerd, geek, fan, and cosplayer...I'm grateful to you for that, as well.

We all have to go sometime, but I am so happy that you got to live a full life and had the opportunity to mingle on screen with the same characters that you created in comic book panels so long ago. It was blessing to have your presence among society, especially during the times when Marvel's gift for entertainment had reached so many people worldwide. We may have lost a great storyteller on Earth...but Heaven has gained one more angel--one that will definitely provide the Good Lord with many spectacular stories...

Just like your characters, The Watchers, I know you will "watch" over us and will somehow continue to find a way to inspire the artists, writers, editors, and publishers who carry on your good work--even it's just through a gentle breeze in the wind outside of Marvel's offices. But we will miss you nonetheless, because there is only ONE Stan Lee and NO ONE can say, "Excelsior!!", like you do...

We will always love you....

Thank you, Stan...for everything...

Rest in Peace, Rest in Love, and Rest in Power
