Another year, another opportunity to just appreciate life.

Dear Reader,

A new year has been granted to us by the mighty lord, lords, spirits, nonexistent entities- whatever floats your boat. Some of us have begun testing out our New Year's resolutions by dipping our toes into the waters of the new year. For others, they are just living in the moment, non-dependent on preset goals.

No matter what your thoughts upon the importance of resolutions, I do hope during these first few weeks of this "fresh start" you have given yourself time to reflect upon the past year (or years). Perhaps, as you read this, your mind reflects upon your country, your politics, opinions, choices or even your personal life; whatever thought pops up may be something dear to you — hold onto that thought for a second. Take a few minutes to cherish, analyze, divulge in and/or come to terms with whatever happened. For some, the past contains memories that have filled their lives with treasured moments; for others, they may have suffered tremendously from burdens and hardships (I hope to those, they find peace). No matter what happened last year, a mark of the new year marks how time has passed and how those who are reading this are still alive.

Perhaps you or someone you love has fallen ill, reached great successes, passed away or even ventured to the great unknown. Perhaps your character and personality have been wavering between a champion and a loser, a king and a peasant, no matter what you are still a being, you are still breathing. Life is like a rollercoaster, like tidal waves, like the rise and set of the sun — take whatever metaphor that helps you understand that life will go on, be chaotic, natural and forever.

It is a new year, there is a lot to reflect on, a lot to do. I hope this in some way inspires you to relax and think about your past and work towards a great future and a better year.

Sincerely,

Someone Who Wishes You The Best
