A man who stayed in a hospital for three days for an involuntary mental health examination should not be permanently barred from purchasing a firearm, a federal court in Pennsylvania ruled , finding that involuntary emergency examinations do not count as commitments to a mental institution, which do trigger the law barring firearm purchases.
