THE LATEST THINKING

I just read about this campus rape story and Heather Ulich's touching response to it. I'm ill.
This is so tragic.
As a guy, I don't get this at all.
Why would any guy want to try and have sex with a lady who is either passed out or who doesn't want it? How can that be a turn-on?
If sex is the objective, surely there's someone out there who would gladly comply; today's "hookup" culture makes it all possible.
So why force yourself on someone who doesn't want it?
If a guy isn't ready, willing or able to find a willing partner, it can't be that hard to find a willing prostitute.
That's not necessarily a great option, but certainly better than raping someone.
Is it a power thing?
Or a deep-seated insecurity that makes doing it with someone who is passed out the only option?
Whatever happened to romance?
Wake up, guys. Real men don't do these kinds of things. They don't need to.
