Don’t pick up something that looks like a small rope near tall grass, it could be a deadly rattlesnake.

The other day while we were walking down the street to the grocery store we saw, in a tree, a little rodent known as a squirrel.

The little squirrel looked at us while he was chewing on something, with his little eyes watching every move we made.

He climbed up to a high branch, ran to the end of the branch and jumped into the air. It looked as if his skin popped-out like a parachute as he glided to another tree’s limb, and landed on that limb which gently bent with his weight.

He then ran down the limb of the tree, turned around, looked at us, and walked off and disappeared.

We went into the grocery store to buy milk, cheese, and eggs to take home. While in the store, we overheard a person telling a story about his own walk to the store.

He said that, as he was walking to the grocery store to pick up some food for his cat, he saw a rope lying on the sidewalk. He went over to pick it up and almost got bitten by a baby rattlesnake sun bathing on the warm sidewalk. The baby rattle snake disappeared into the grass along the sidewalk.

When we got home, our curiosity got the best of us and we looked up rattlesnakes and found out that snakes, around this time of the year, when it warms up, like to sunbathe during the day.

Just be advised to watch where you step when walking near tall grass, and don’t bend down to pick up something that looks like rope. It just could be a deadly snake.
