Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 13, 2015
- THELATEST.com is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website and that of our
registered members/users and contributors. This policy explains what information we collect
through the website as well as how that information is used.
SCOPE
- This privacy policy is only applicable to THELATEST.com. THELATEST.com is not responsible for
any information collected by other websites that are linked from articles, advertisements, etc.,
on THELATEST.com and over which we have no control. We encourage users to review those websites’
privacy policies and consult them directly if you have any questions or concerns.
WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
-
You are not required to provide any personally identifiable information in order to view
THELATEST.com. If you wish to register as a member/user of THELATEST.com in order to have access
to certain features, all you have to share is your first name, last name, email address and
country of residence by using our secure online form. This information will never be disclosed
to or shared with another party without your consent, unless THELATEST is legally bound to do
so.
-
If you are selected to be an official contributor for THELATEST.com, your name, email, bio and
link to your website will be included on your profile page. Your name and the link to your
website will be included with your blog post. Other information will not be disclosed.
-
THELATEST.com allows registered members/users to submit comments on subject matter covered by
the website. Commenters should be aware that the screen or user name, or other information they
choose to make public when they registered to submit comments will be posted
with their comment. Email addresses will not be disclosed.
-
THELATEST.com enlists the aid of various analytical tools to collect general usage statistics
about our site. The goal is to glean insights that will result in a better user experience.
While we will learn your user preferences over time, we won’t reveal those preferences to
advertisers or others UNLESS YOU WANT US TO.
-
For example, if you come to our “autos” page daily, we will assume you are interested in cars
and advertisements about cars. But if somehow we can determine you are in the market for a new
BMW, we will not share that information with BMW or its advertising agencies unless you click on
the “Advertising Opt-In” button found inside your MY LATEST page.
-
Signing up with social media providers (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) will not give THELATEST
access to your account with those providers. If you wish to share information from THELATEST.com
with a social media site, you must give your permission first.
-
Only you can update or edit or delete your information page with THELATEST.com. This can be done
at any time.
WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
-
With your consent, THELATEST.com will send you periodical newsletters via the email address you
provided. You can unsubscribe from those newsletters at any time. You can also go to MY LATEST
and sign up for those newsletters you DO want.
-
Cookies will be used to automatically sign the user in to THELATEST.com as a registered
member/user or blogger. They will not be used to gather any personal information.
-
If you delete your account, we will delete any information we have about you within 90 days. But
think first before you delete your account, because once you do, you’ll need to go through the
sign-up process again if you choose to return.
-
If THE LATEST is sold or merged into another company, we will notify our users on our site and
users will have five working days to delete their information if that’s what they want to do.
-
If THE LATEST closes completely, user information will be deleted within 10 days of a final
decision to close. If for some reason we close temporarily while working on a “what’s next?”
plan, we’ll keep user information intact in the hope that there will be as little disruption to
service as possible. Even if we fail – which is certainly not our goal – it’s possible someone
else could make a go of this.
-
Although THELATEST will do its utmost to keep your information secure, it cannot be held
responsible for information lost to a data breach or other cyber attack.
CHANGES IN OUR PRIVACY POLICY
-
If THE LATEST changes its privacy policy, we will post this prominently on our website. We will
assume you agree to changes unless you proactively go into your MY LATEST page and click on the
“I do not agree” box.
-
If there are any concerns about our privacy policy, please send an email to [email protected]
